Scope and global application
This Cookie Policy explains how Tradornet ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you access our B2B marketplace platform as an individual customer, dealer (retail or wholesale), or manufacturer. It applies worldwide to all visitors and account holders, regardless of location. Where mandatory local laws (including the EU ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, UK GDPR, Turkish personal data protection law, and US state privacy statutes) impose stricter or additional requirements, those mandatory provisions prevail over any general statement in this policy.
By continuing to use Tradornet after being presented with our cookie banner or preference centre, you acknowledge this policy. Non-essential cookies are placed only where permitted by applicable law and, where required, after you provide consent.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser, remember preferences, maintain secure sessions, and support core commerce functions such as shopping carts, quote workflows, and authenticated access to manufacturer and dealer panels.
We also use similar technologies including local storage, session storage, and pixels or tags embedded in pages or emails. In this policy, "cookies" refers to cookies and these comparable tools unless we specify otherwise.
Cookies may be "first-party" (set by Tradornet) or "third-party" (set by payment processors, analytics providers, content delivery networks, or other partners). They may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or "persistent" cookies (remaining until they expire or you delete them).
Cookie categories we use
The table below describes the main categories of cookies on Tradornet. Exact cookie names and lifetimes may change as we improve the platform; material changes will be reflected in this policy or in our consent tool.
Essential (strictly necessary) cookies
These cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be switched off through our preference centre. They support login and session management, CSRF and fraud protection, load balancing, security monitoring, cart and checkout persistence, dealer quote baskets, manufacturer order dashboards, and compliance with legal obligations. Without them, you cannot securely sign in, place orders, or use role-specific B2B features.
- Purpose: authentication, security, cart/checkout, platform stability
- Legal basis: legitimate interests and/or performance of contract; consent not required where strictly necessary
- Duration: session or short-term persistent (typically up to 24 hours for session tokens; security cookies may last longer)
- Can you disable? only via browser settings, but doing so will impair or prevent use of the service
Functional (preference) cookies
Functional cookies remember choices you make to provide a more personalised experience, such as language, currency display, theme (light/dark), saved filters in catalogues, and collapsed or expanded UI states in dealer and manufacturer workspaces.
- Purpose: preferences, usability, remembered settings
- Legal basis: consent where required; otherwise legitimate interests in improving user experience
- Duration: typically 30 days to 12 months depending on the setting
- Can you disable? yes, via our cookie preference centre or browser; some convenience features may reset on each visit
Analytics cookies
Where enabled, analytics cookies help us understand how users navigate Tradornet, which pages load slowly, where errors occur, and how manufacturers, dealers, and individual customers use key flows (registration, product search, quotes, orders). We use aggregated statistics to improve performance and design. We do not use analytics cookies to sell personal data or for cross-site behavioural advertising unless you separately consent to marketing cookies.
- Purpose: usage measurement, performance monitoring, error diagnostics
- Legal basis: consent in the EU/UK and similar jurisdictions; elsewhere as permitted by local law
- Duration: typically 1 day to 24 months depending on the provider
- Can you disable? yes, via preference centre or browser
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies may be used to measure campaign effectiveness, attribute traffic sources, or—only with consent—deliver relevant messages about Tradornet services. They are not required for core marketplace operations. B2B users may see fewer marketing cookies than consumer-facing sites, but optional promotional tools may still apply where lawful.
- Purpose: campaign measurement, optional promotional relevance
- Legal basis: consent where required
- Duration: typically up to 12 months
- Can you disable? yes, via preference centre or browser
Consent management
When you first visit Tradornet from a region where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we display a cookie banner or preference centre. You may accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise categories (functional, analytics, marketing). Your choices are stored in a consent cookie or equivalent record so we can honour them on return visits.
You may withdraw or change consent at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer or your account privacy area. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Essential cookies remain active because the service cannot operate without them.
For logged-in business users (dealers and manufacturers), some preferences may also be linked to your account profile for consistency across devices, subject to your privacy settings and applicable law.
Third-party cookies and partners
Tradornet integrates trusted third parties that may set their own cookies when you interact with their services on or through our platform:
- Payment providers: when you pay for orders or subscriptions, payment gateways may use cookies for fraud prevention, 3-D Secure authentication, and transaction processing. Their use is governed by the payment provider's privacy and cookie policies.
- Analytics providers: if we deploy analytics (for example privacy-oriented or mainstream analytics tools), those providers may set cookies to collect pseudonymous usage data. We configure tools to minimise personal data where possible and require contractual safeguards for international transfers.
- Content delivery networks (CDN) and hosting: CDN and infrastructure partners may use cookies or similar identifiers for caching, DDoS protection, and delivery optimisation. These are often essential or closely related to security and performance.
- Embedded content: occasional embedded maps, videos, or support widgets may set third-party cookies; we aim to load such content only after consent where required.
We do not control third-party cookies directly. Please review each partner's documentation for details and opt-out options.
Regional legal requirements
European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom
Under the ePrivacy rules and GDPR/UK GDPR, storing or accessing information on your device (except strictly necessary cookies) generally requires prior consent. We provide granular choices and maintain records of consent where appropriate. You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port personal data processed via cookies, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
United States and other jurisdictions
Certain US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) grant residents rights regarding personal information collected online, which may include data collected through cookies. Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, delete, correct, or opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. Tradornet does not sell personal data for money; if we use cookies that qualify as "sharing" under state law, we provide opt-out mechanisms consistent with applicable regulations.
In Turkey and other countries with dedicated data protection laws, we comply with local requirements for information, consent, and security. Mandatory local provisions always apply in addition to this global policy.
How to manage or disable cookies
You can manage cookies through our on-site preference centre at any time. You may also delete existing cookies and block new ones using browser or device settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent login, cart functionality, dealer quote tools, and manufacturer panel access.
If you use multiple browsers or devices, set preferences on each. Clearing cookies may reset your consent choices and require you to select preferences again.
Browser-specific settings
Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Guidance is typically found under Privacy, Security, or Site settings. Below are starting points for common browsers; menus may vary by version:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data (macOS/iOS)
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Mobile operating systems also offer advertising or tracking controls in system privacy settings. Refer to your device manufacturer's documentation for details.
Do Not Track and global privacy control signals
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals or support Global Privacy Control (GPC). There is no uniform legal standard requiring response to DNT. Where GPC or similar opt-out signals are recognised under applicable US state law, we treat them as valid opt-out requests for cookies used for sale/sharing or targeted advertising, to the extent technically feasible and legally required.
Essential cookies will still be used to deliver the core Tradornet service regardless of DNT/GPC, unless technically impossible to operate the platform.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our use of cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top of the published page will change when we make material revisions. For significant changes affecting non-essential cookies, we may request renewed consent or notify you via the platform or email where appropriate.
